Registration & Residency
Now Accepting Registration for the 2023–2024 School Year
We make registration easy! Online registration is available, or you may complete an application at your school office. Please take a moment to view our school boundary maps on the Our Schools page to determine your child's school, or contact us for assistance. Yuma Elementary School District One requires that all students and their parents/guardians be residents of the state.
How to Enroll in Yuma School District One
- Elementary Registration (Grades K–5)
- If you are currently enrolled in a YSD1 elementary school and intend to return to that same school, you do not need to complete a new registration form. Your student(s) enrollment will remain at their current school of attendance (see Our Schools boundary map).
- Middle School Registration (Grades 6–8)
- If you are currently enrolled in a YSD1 middle school and intend to return to that same school, you do not need to complete a new registration form. Your student(s) enrollment will remain at their current school of attendance (see Our Schools boundary map).

- At least two emergency phone contacts
- Parent's workplace and phone number
- Proof of legal guardianship (if child is not living with one of his/her natural parents)
Transitioning from Homeschool
Parents transitioning their child(ren) from homeschooling to Yuma School District One should complete the pupil withdrawal and change form, and return it to the Yuma County Superintendent’s Office. If you utilized the AZ Empowerment Scholarship for homeschooling, remember to close your account before enrolling at a District One school.
If your child was homeschooled in another state, be sure to check that state’s requirements for exiting the program.
Open Enrollment
Open Enrollment enables Arizona students to attend public schools outside their attendance area. Yuma School District One’s Open Enrollment policy allows any Arizona student to apply for admission to any district school that has capacity.
In compliance with ARS 15-816, each school’s capacity is listed on the Open Enrollment Capacity page and updated at least once every twelve (12) weeks.
