School Health Services

Welcome to the School Health Services Department. It is our pleasure to serve the local school community. We staff each of our eighteen health offices with a health assistant who works under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. Our health assistants work diligently to ensure immunizations are up to date and to provide excellent care for the daily needs of the students. They will be the first person who greets you on the phone or inside the health offices.

Our district assigns registered nurses to a cluster of schools, and they travel among their school sites on a regular basis. They provide comprehensive health services such as education, health and safety promotion, and healthcare case management. School nurses serve as a liaison between families, physicians, and staff to advocate for the medical needs of the student, reduce school absences, and promote learning.

Together, our health services team provides essential services to all District One students, including:

  • Health Forms (see Forms and Documents link)
  • Immunization Review
  • Health Screenings
  • Collaboration with Dental Clinics and the United Way
  • Communicable Disease Reporting
  • Health Teaching
  • Case Management for Medically Fragile Students (RN only)

Please follow the links to find helpful information, including an email link to your school’s supervising registered nurse. We want to hear from you. We are here to support you in advocating for your child’s medical needs.
